FavourEconomy presented at CARE: FEMINISM, ART AND ETHICS IN NEO LIBERAL TIMES round table at Cross Art Projects, Sydney. The Care Project Network involves artists, researchers and practitioners interested in Care as a framework for ethical practice, who have come come together to drive and contribute to a new research initiative. The project is led by Dr Jacqueline Millner, Associate Prof. of Visual Arts, LaTrobe Bendigo. Jacqueline is also Co-convenor of Contemporary Art and Feminism, a research group across LaTrobe, University of Sydney, and Cross Arts Projects, Sydney.

Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of FavourEconomy were presented at MCA ARTBAR as a participatory sound installation. Here, the audience was invited to respond to the archive in the form of writing and mark making, as a way of experiencing and documenting value received by the listener within the context of a major contemporary art institution.

Led by Professor Anne Marsh, the symposium documents the historical legacy and ongoing critical relevance of feminism in contemporary Australian art.

A three-month program curated by Professor Anne Marsh of artist residencies, performances, artists' talks, seminars, screenings and a cross-generational mentoring program at the Norma Redpath House and Studio in Carlton, Victoria, with a focus on collaboration, participatory and public projects informed by a feminist ethics that address the theme ‘sharing the world’.

FAVOURECONOMY RESIDENCY AT FRONTYARD PROJECTS

FavourEconomy will be in residence at Frontyard Projects working towards the public launch of the FE 15-16 archive in June 2016. The residency aims to meet face to face with women who are interested in contributing to FavourEconomy - to discuss the project, share our stories and experiences and to assist the recording of favours. If you're thinking about contributing a favour to the archive and are going to be in Sydney between 4 - 10 April, get in touch to arrange a time to visit, workshop ideas and record your favour.
